If you’re looking for Lehigh Valley events this weekend, you’ll find more than you can possibly attend. This is one of the many reasons why we love living and working in this amazing region.
November can be a busy month, with Thanksgiving and the preparations that accompany it, but it’s still important to get out and enjoy our community. As with every month, November brings several fun events that only happen during this time of year. Here’s a look at a few we know you’ll enjoy.
Three Fun November Activities in the Lehigh Valley
PA Bacon Fest
If you’re a fan of bacon, head to Easton on Nov. 2 and 3 for the annual PA Bacon Fest. Featuring more than 150 vendors, 12 musical acts and hog calling and bacon eating contests, this is an event you don’t want to miss. In fact, it’s one of the top bacon festivals in the country, as Parade named it one of the ‘5 Can’t-Miss Bacon Festivals’ in the country for 2019 — among other honors.
This festival also has a deeper meaning. It’s the largest fundraiser for the Greater Easton Development Partnership — a nonprofit that helps boost the city’s economic health, cultural vibrancy and promote the offerings of this historic city.
Colebrookdale Railroad Excursions
Take in the gorgeous sites of fall in the Lehigh Valley from a 1920s train on the Secret Valley Line. Starting and ending in Boyertown, you’ll enjoy a two-hour adventure through our amazing region. Choose from four different seating options — deluxe coach, dining car, first class parlor or locomotive — while enjoying locally-produced autumn snacks and ciders on this quintessential fall activity, which runs through Nov. 9.
Fegley’s Allentown Chili Cook-Off
Clear your schedule on Nov. 9, because Fegley’s Allentown Brew Works is hosting the city’s first-ever restaurant chili cook-off. Wear your stretchy pants, because tickets are just $10 for all-you-can-sample chili from 20 Allentown restaurants. When you’re done sampling, cast your vote for the best chili, to help your favorite restaurant win the title of Best Chili in Allentown.
Proceeds from the event benefit Allentown Emergency Services, so you’re eating for a great cause.
