August Happenings in the Lehigh Valley

The last full month of summer is upon us, so it’s time to really live it up. There’s always a ton of things to do in Lehigh Valley, PA and August is no exception.

In no time at all, the kids will be back in school, so make the most of the remaining few weeks of freedom. Before you know it, evenings will be occupied by homework and shuttling youngsters to and from their extracurricular activities.

Here at HTSS, Inc., we can’t get enough of all the fun offered in our local community. As always, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite August happenings, and we hope you’ll enjoy them too.

3 Must-Attend August Events

Musikfest

The largest free music festival in the U.S. is back. Musikfest takes places from Aug. 2-11 in Bethlehem, and you don’t want to miss it. Running since 1984, the festival is one of the most diverse in the country. Enjoy more than 500 shows on 17 stages during the 10-day festival. Make a day of it  or several  to listen to a wide-variety of free shows and ticketed performances by big names like Train & The Goo Goo Dolls, Lady Antebellum, The Chainsmokers, Brad Paisley and Earth, Wind & Fire.

The Great Pocono Raceway Airshow

Mark your calendar for The Great Pocono Raceway Airshow, held Aug. 24-25 in Long Pond. Don’t miss this inaugural event, featuring several performances, including the U.S. Army Golden Knights, Lewis & Clark Perf. FLS Microjet, Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation and Tora! Tora! Tora! — a historic recreation of the attack on Pearl Harbor. If you’re into aviation, this will be the highlight of your summer.

The Great Allentown Fair

A summer tradition, The Great Allentown Fair takes place from Aug. 27-Sep. 2. Now in its 167th year, this long-running event offers fun for the whole family. Enjoy rides, games, shows and interesting exhibits, while making lasting memories. Several big name artists will be performing at the fair, including Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Daryl Hall & John Oates and a joint show by Bush and Live. Don’t miss the grand finale — the J&J Demolition Derby on Sept. 2.

CEO Letter

As a staffing and recruitment professional for over  30 years, I have seen many changes in the industry. Over that time, I’ve witnessed a transformation in the way organizations view staffing services. Today, we see more and more companies using staffing services as a strategic tool, rather than just for temporary fill-ins.

At HTSS, Inc., our focus is on helping companies create proactive workforce plans. Our goal is to help our clients use staffing strategically to increase capacity, overcome hiring freezes, access specialized talent, better manage increased workloads, and enhance overall productivity.

For our candidates, we help to uncover truly rewarding job opportunities—jobs that are a match to each candidate’s skills, and jobs that offer key experience and growth potential.

We look forward to strengthening our relationships with our current clients and candidates, as well as forming new and exciting partnerships in the future.

Sincerely,

Pat Howells
