Insights and advice about jobs and hiring in the Lehigh Valley.

Four Fun Happenings in the Lehigh Valley This May

Summer is so close you can probably almost feel it. In no time at all, the kids will be out of school and you’ll finally be able to take that vacation you’ve been planning for months, but first, you need to do spring right.

If you’re looking for places hiring in Lehigh Valley, you’re probably laser-focused on that, but don’t forget to have a little fun. There’s so many exciting local events going on in the Lehigh Valley this May, you don’t want to miss out. Here’s a look at a few of our favorite happenings in the region this month.

Bark Bash at Blue

If you love animals, head to Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton for the Second Annual Bark Bash on May 5. Held from noon to 5 p.m., this free event will feature pet-friendly crafters and vendors, live music, pet-orientated demonstrations and more. If you’re thinking of expanding your pack, local rescue and adoption agencies will also be on site to answer your questions.

Opening Day at Easton Farmers’ Market

One of the best things about spring is the return of farmer’s markets. The Easton Farmer’s Market opens for the season on May 5, so clean out your refrigerator and visit Centre Square from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The oldest, continuous open-air market in the U.S. will commemorate the start of its 266th year with a ribbon cutting you don’t want to miss. Afterward, enjoy shopping local and chatting with the people who grow your food.

Historic Nazareth Walking Tour

No doubt, you’ve been to Nazareth several times, but if you’ve never strolled through the town with a costumed tour guide, now is your chance. Starting May 12, walking tours will be held at 2 p.m. every second Saturday, with the exception of January and February. Meet at the Whitefield House and spend 45 minutes to one hour learning about the people who founded the town — the Moravians. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for youth and seniors.

Mother’s Day Brunch

Still not sure where to celebrate mom? Make her Mother’s Day extra special by taking her to brunch at the Riverview Country club in Easton. Reservations for this glorious brunch buffet can be made from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., so book your table now. The price is $30.95 for adults, $16.95 for kids ages four to 12 and free for kids ages three and under.

CEO Letter

As a staffing and recruitment professional for over  30 years, I have seen many changes in the industry. Over that time, I’ve witnessed a transformation in the way organizations view staffing services. Today, we see more and more companies using staffing services as a strategic tool, rather than just for temporary fill-ins.

At HTSS, Inc., our focus is on helping companies create proactive workforce plans. Our goal is to help our clients use staffing strategically to increase capacity, overcome hiring freezes, access specialized talent, better manage increased workloads, and enhance overall productivity.

For our candidates, we help to uncover truly rewarding job opportunities—jobs that are a match to each candidate’s skills, and jobs that offer key experience and growth potential.

We look forward to strengthening our relationships with our current clients and candidates, as well as forming new and exciting partnerships in the future.

Sincerely,

Pat Howells
