Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem
Modeled after the festive holiday outdoor markets in Germany, Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem has been bringing cheer to the area since 1993. Now one of the largest holiday attractions in the Northeastern U.S., this breathtaking market features handmade art, Germany’s Kathe Wohlfahrt — known for its authentic German ornaments, nutcrackers and other items — live Christmas music, mouth-watering food and so much more.
Of course, St. Nicholas is also on hand, along with ice carving demonstrations, the GlassWorks area — offering hand-blown holiday ornaments and art — and the beautiful 26-foot-tall Christkindlmarkt tree. PEEPSfest
If you don’t already have plans for New Year’s, head to PEEPS® in the Bethlehem SteelStacks for PEEPSfest. This annual two-day event takes place from 10am to 4pm on Dec. 30 and 10am to 5:30pm on Dec. 31. Fun and family-friendly, the festival features a host of events, including the PEEPSfest 5K and the PEEPs Chic Drop — a 4-feet, 9-inches, 200-pound lighted PEEPS chick dropped annually at 5:15pm on Dec. 31 to celebrate the New Year.
