Two-Minute Habits That Will Drastically Impact Your Workday

As an ambitious person, you’re always searching for ways to learn and grow. However, you’re also a busy manager with a hectic schedule, who doesn’t have a lot of free time.

Thankfully, there’s plenty of two-minute habits you can adopt that will help improve both your performance and your relationships at work. Here’s a few to get you started.

Four Two-Minute Habits That Will Improve Your Day

Practice Gratitude

You have a lot in life to be grateful for. Taking a pause each day to focus on what you appreciate most will help you stay grounded and feel happier. Achieve this by journaling, reciting positive affirmations or simply reaching out to a friend, family member or coworker and telling them how much you enjoy having them in your life.

Set Intentions

Focus on meaningful accomplishments by setting intentions. For example, you might set an intention to lead by example.

Intentions are different than goals, because they center on the present and they’re not attached to a measurable outcome. They tend to be broader in spectrum, eventually leading you to more specific goals. This helps give you clarity, by allowing you to stop and concentrate on what you really want.

Get Up and Move

When you’re busy at work, you tend to sit at your desk for hours on end. While this might seem like the best way to be productive, taking breaks to move your body will actually help you accomplish more. Getting up and walking to the kitchen for a glass of water or simply taking a few laps around the hallway will boost your circulation and your energy levels. This will allow you to be more productive when you return to your desk.

Mind Your Posture

Hunching over your keyboard all day is terrible for your body. Take a couple minutes each day to be mindful of your posture and make meaningful changes — i.e., making sure your feet are hip distance apart, your hips are situated all the way back in the chair and your arms are relaxed at the side of your body. Doing so will decrease the strain on your muscles and reduce tension. This will help make sitting at your desk feel better, which will allow you to work better.

CEO Letter

As a staffing and recruitment professional for over  30 years, I have seen many changes in the industry. Over that time, I’ve witnessed a transformation in the way organizations view staffing services. Today, we see more and more companies using staffing services as a strategic tool, rather than just for temporary fill-ins.

At HTSS, Inc., our focus is on helping companies create proactive workforce plans. Our goal is to help our clients use staffing strategically to increase capacity, overcome hiring freezes, access specialized talent, better manage increased workloads, and enhance overall productivity.

For our candidates, we help to uncover truly rewarding job opportunities—jobs that are a match to each candidate’s skills, and jobs that offer key experience and growth potential.

We look forward to strengthening our relationships with our current clients and candidates, as well as forming new and exciting partnerships in the future.

Sincerely,

Pat Howells
