End Your Work Week on a Positive Note!

TGIF:  the rallying cry of employees all across America. So many of us rush on Fridays listening for the clock to strike five that we may not spend enough time thinking about ways to end the week on a positive note. The more productive you are on Friday, the fewer challenges you will have on Monday when you arrive back to your desk. Here are a few simple tips you can use on a Friday to end your week strong and enjoy your weekend without worrying about what you left behind.

  1. Thank the people who helped you.
No worker is an island in their office. Business environments inevitably lead to teamwork or relying on other staff to help out along the way. You know you like it when your boss praises your good work so pay that forward. Toward the end of the day on Friday send out thank you emails or write quick notes to four or five people who helped you out that week. Your expression of gratitude will give you a good feeling as you leave for the day and also give your coworkers or teammates a sense of appreciation to start their weekend. You could be a trailblazer and next thing you know the entire workplace will follow suit. This can lead to an increase in productivity overall.
  2. Write down your accomplishments.
No matter how big or small, you accomplished something during the week so write it down. This will help give you an energy boost at the end of the day thinking about what you were able to achieve. Keep this in a running journal or make a Happiness Jar where you can place these things and look back at them at the end of the year. Besides making you feel good about the work you did, this is also a practical exercise. If you ever find yourself in the job market you will be able to share some of your top accomplishments with potential new employers.
  3. Write down your top three goals.
Look at the week ahead. What are the three biggest tasks you need to accomplish for the next week? What are the steps you need to take to make them happen? Who can help you? Create your task list and determine the steps you would need to take to be able to achieve these goals by the following Friday. Write these on your calendar so you know exactly what you need to complete and when.

CEO Letter

As a staffing and recruitment professional for over  30 years, I have seen many changes in the industry. Over that time, I’ve witnessed a transformation in the way organizations view staffing services. Today, we see more and more companies using staffing services as a strategic tool, rather than just for temporary fill-ins.

At HTSS, Inc., our focus is on helping companies create proactive workforce plans. Our goal is to help our clients use staffing strategically to increase capacity, overcome hiring freezes, access specialized talent, better manage increased workloads, and enhance overall productivity.

For our candidates, we help to uncover truly rewarding job opportunities—jobs that are a match to each candidate’s skills, and jobs that offer key experience and growth potential.

We look forward to strengthening our relationships with our current clients and candidates, as well as forming new and exciting partnerships in the future.

Sincerely,

Pat Howells
