Four Cant-Miss Events This Month in Lehigh Valley

If you’ve spent the summer filling jobs in Lehigh Valley, PA or looking for new opportunities, it’s time for a break. The days are getting shorter and the weather is gradually starting to cool off, so that only means one thing — fall has arrived. One of the best months of the year in our area, September brings plenty of fun activities, so make time to enjoy them.

Chances are, a few of the happenings below are already on your calendar, but if not, write them in immediately.

The Great Allentown Fair

Located at the Allentown Fairgrounds, The Great Allentown Fair will take place daily from Aug. 28-Sept. 3. The fair offers something for everyone, including rides, games, shows by big name artists, international cuisine and educational opportunities. Regular admission is $8, kids 12 and under are free and senior citizens — ages 65 and up with ID — are $4 after 2pm on Aug. 29.

23rd Annual Chile Pepper Festival

Held Sept. 7-8 at Bill Delong Park in Bowers, the 23rd Annual Chile Pepper Festival is back. The fun takes place from 9am-6pm rain or shine, and includes a jalapeno pepper eating contest on Saturday at 4pm. Come hungry, because they’ll be plenty of free samples and amazing vendors selling honey, sauces, jams and popcorn — just to name a few. Admission is by suggested donation and parking is free.

5th Annual Apple Days

Load the family in the car — including the dog — and head to Bethlehem on Sept. 8-9 for the 5th Annual Apple Days at Burnside Plantation. Open from 10am-4pm, expect a variety of festive activities, including apple bobbing, apple stamping t-shirts, cooking and colonial demonstrations, donkey-drawn wagon rides, barn and horse tours, live music, a donut-eating contest both days at 1pm, live music and more. Tickets are $5 for adults — ages 18 and up — and free for kids — ages 17 and under.

Celtic Classic Highland Games & Festival

Hosted by the Celtic Cultural Alliance since 1988, the Celtic Classic Highland Games & Festival will take place in Bethlehem from Sept. 28-30. Events include a plethora of musical performances, children’s activities, workshops, demonstrations and competitions. CEO Letter

As a staffing and recruitment professional for over  30 years, I have seen many changes in the industry. Over that time, I’ve witnessed a transformation in the way organizations view staffing services. Today, we see more and more companies using staffing services as a strategic tool, rather than just for temporary fill-ins.

At HTSS, Inc., our focus is on helping companies create proactive workforce plans. Our goal is to help our clients use staffing strategically to increase capacity, overcome hiring freezes, access specialized talent, better manage increased workloads, and enhance overall productivity.

For our candidates, we help to uncover truly rewarding job opportunities—jobs that are a match to each candidate’s skills, and jobs that offer key experience and growth potential.

We look forward to strengthening our relationships with our current clients and candidates, as well as forming new and exciting partnerships in the future.

Sincerely,

Pat Howells
