Beat the Heat with These August Activities in Lehigh Valley

Hope your summer is a blast so far! We’re in the final month of the most relaxed season of the year, so it’s time to really live it up. There’s no shortage of exciting festivals, events and other happenings in the area this August, so plan ahead to make sure you don’t miss out.

If you’ve been busy searching for Lehigh Valley jobs, give yourself a break on the weekends to enjoy all our amazing community has to offer. We’re very fortunate to live in a region packed with activities for all ages, on budgets of every size.

At HTSS, Inc., we work hard, but our team understands the importance of taking time to relax with family and friends. Here’s a few August events many of us will attend that we thought you might also enjoy.

Musikfest

Don’t miss the premier event of the summer, happening from August 3-12 in Bethlehem. More than 500 performances will be held during the 10-day festival, including local acts and national names, including Daughtry and Brantley Gilbert. Tickets are only required for shows at the Sands Steel Stage, making this a seriously affordable event. There’s also several non-musical events, including the Musikfest 5K and the Musikfest Hot Glass Experience.

Das Awkscht Fescht

The largest antique and classic car show in the U.S. is right in our own backyard. Held at Macungie Memorial Park in Macungie from August 3-5, the 55th Annual Das Awkscht Fescht offers fun for all ages. Explore the 42-acre festival, including events, shows and entertainment. Tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for ages 15 and under.

Moonlight Rafting

Get out and enjoy the beautiful summer weather by embarking on a moonlight rafting trip at Pocono Whitewater Adventures in Jim Thorpe. A fun experience for those ages 13 and up, this nighttime excursion costs $99.99 per person. Enjoy an exciting evening of whitewater on a guided raft decorated with glow sticks. When your journey is complete, celebrate with complimentary wine — for guests ages 21 and over — cheese and crackers. Dates this month include two Saturdays — August 4th and August 18th.

CEO Letter

As a staffing and recruitment professional for over  30 years, I have seen many changes in the industry. Over that time, I’ve witnessed a transformation in the way organizations view staffing services. Today, we see more and more companies using staffing services as a strategic tool, rather than just for temporary fill-ins.

At HTSS, Inc., our focus is on helping companies create proactive workforce plans. Our goal is to help our clients use staffing strategically to increase capacity, overcome hiring freezes, access specialized talent, better manage increased workloads, and enhance overall productivity.

For our candidates, we help to uncover truly rewarding job opportunities—jobs that are a match to each candidate’s skills, and jobs that offer key experience and growth potential.

We look forward to strengthening our relationships with our current clients and candidates, as well as forming new and exciting partnerships in the future.

Sincerely,

Pat Howells
