Whether you’re searching for jobs in Reading, PA and the surrounding area or trying to fill them, the process takes a lot of time and energy. However, it’s important to clear room in your schedule to relax and enjoy life with family and friends.
Now that September has arrived, the air is starting to get a little cooler, and before you know it, the leaves will be changing color. Fall is such a beautiful time in the Lehigh Valley, and there’s so many fun activities going on. At HTSS, Inc. our calendars are already jam-packed with fall festivities, but the two events below are definitely our September favorites.
The Great Allentown Fair
Put the kids in the car and head to The Great Allentown Fair for a fun and educational experience. Held from Aug. 29 to Sept. 4., there’s so much to do, you’ll want to make a day of it.
Browse the agriculture section to check out the incredible accomplishments of our local farmers, gardeners and homemakers. Have a blast riding rides, playing games and taking in unique and interesting shows. After working up an appetite, feast on the abundance of international cuisine offered.
Rich with history, this annual event has been a tradition since 1852. If you grew up in the area, you probably visited the fair with your parents as a kid, and now you can enjoy giving your own children the same experience.

Apple Days
Everyone knows fall is synonymous with apples, so hitting up the 4th Annual Apple Days at Burnside Plantation on Sept. 9 and 10 is a must. Located in Bethlehem, this family-friendly festival is fun for everyone. Plenty of activities will take place, including apple bobbing, cooking and colonial demonstrations, kids’ games and musical performances.
Clearly, there will also be a ton of apple food, including donuts, muffins, pies, dumplings, fritters, strudel and cider. If you’re worried your favorite dessert will sell out before you arrive, you can even pre-order them, so they’ll be waiting for you.
