How to Better Address Time Management with Your Employees in 2017

Time is money, and chances are, your employees are wasting more of it than you realize. Shockingly — or maybe not so — 69% of those polled in the 2014 Salary.com Wasting Time at Work Survey admitted to slacking off at least a little each day.

A new year is a great time to make changes for the better, so start your employees off on a more productive note by teaching them how to make optimal use of their time. HTSS, Inc. — one of the top temporary employment agencies in Allentown, PA — has some advice to help make a noticeable difference.

Four Time Management Techniques to Share With Your Employees

Designate Specific Times to Check Emails

It’s nearly impossible to focus when email notifications are constantly running across the computer screen. Advise your staffers to disable this setting and spend less time in their inbox. Rather than reading emails as soon as they come in, they’ll make much better use of their day by scheduling a few set times to read and respond to messages.

Push Back on Unnecessary Meeting Invites

Chances are, most of your employees waste a significant amount of time in meetings they don’t need to attend. A total of 59% of the 2000 office workers polled in a 2014 survey by AtTask and the Harris Poll felt they spent too much time in unnecessary meetings. Empower your staff to change this by encouraging them to contact the meeting organizer if they receive an invite that seems needless.

Create a To-Do List Each Morning

Achieving peak productivity is difficult when people waffle from one task to the next. Help your team change this by advising them to create a to-do list before starting work each day. Every task that needs to be completed by the end of the day should be listed and prioritized by importance. If necessary, they can even estimate the amount of time each task will take to  help them stay on-track and know exactly how much is on their plate.

Maintain an Orderly Workspace

Neatness comes easier to some people than others, and that’s okay. However, if an employee’s workspace is constantly in a state of chaos, it’s holding them back. Explain how a tidy workspace correlates with productivity, and offer to purchase desk organizing supplies for those who need them.

CEO Letter

As a staffing and recruitment professional for over  30 years, I have seen many changes in the industry. Over that time, I’ve witnessed a transformation in the way organizations view staffing services. Today, we see more and more companies using staffing services as a strategic tool, rather than just for temporary fill-ins.

At HTSS, Inc., our focus is on helping companies create proactive workforce plans. Our goal is to help our clients use staffing strategically to increase capacity, overcome hiring freezes, access specialized talent, better manage increased workloads, and enhance overall productivity.

For our candidates, we help to uncover truly rewarding job opportunities—jobs that are a match to each candidate’s skills, and jobs that offer key experience and growth potential.

We look forward to strengthening our relationships with our current clients and candidates, as well as forming new and exciting partnerships in the future.

Sincerely,
