How to Properly Set Goals for 2019

The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to create a fresh set of goals to guide the next 12 months. Whether you’re planning to start searching for jobs hiring in Allentown, PA or just want to climb the ladder at your current company, you need a game plan to make your 2019 vision a reality.

All goals are not created equal. Set yourself up for success by taking the time to create robust objectives meant to be achieved. Not sure how to set goals? Here is some advice to help you get started with goal setting.

3 Tips to Properly Set Goals for 2019

Make Them S.M.A.R.T.

If you’re serious about achieving your goals, you need to make them S.M.A.R.T. — specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound. With goal setting theory, the more details you include, the better, because there’s less room to veer off course.

Ambiguous goals or those of an unrealistic nature are meant to be broken, because there’s too much leeway. You can quit whenever you desire, because there’s nothing holding you accountable.

Schedule Time to Revisit Them

It’s hard to achieve your goals if they’re out of site and out of mind. As soon as you finish setting your goals, schedule a monthly recurring review on your calendar to check in and map your progress. This will keep your objectives fresh on your mind and motivate you to keep up the great work.

Don’t Be Afraid to Make Changes

It’s almost inevitable that at least one of your goals will become irrelevant during the year, so they should never be set in stone. The entire purpose of creating objectives is to learn and grow, so if anything on the list in front of you no longer feels right, don’t be afraid to amend it. This is your career and your goals, so there’s nothing wrong with making changes throughout the year to get you to a place where you can feel proud in December.

CEO Letter

As a staffing and recruitment professional for over  30 years, I have seen many changes in the industry. Over that time, I’ve witnessed a transformation in the way organizations view staffing services. Today, we see more and more companies using staffing services as a strategic tool, rather than just for temporary fill-ins.

At HTSS, Inc., our focus is on helping companies create proactive workforce plans. Our goal is to help our clients use staffing strategically to increase capacity, overcome hiring freezes, access specialized talent, better manage increased workloads, and enhance overall productivity.

For our candidates, we help to uncover truly rewarding job opportunities—jobs that are a match to each candidate’s skills, and jobs that offer key experience and growth potential.

We look forward to strengthening our relationships with our current clients and candidates, as well as forming new and exciting partnerships in the future.

Sincerely,

Pat Howells
