5 Patriotic July 4th Happenings in the Lehigh Valley

July 4th is just around the corner, so if you don’t already have plans in place, it’s time to make them! Located right next to Philadelphia — the location of the signing of the Declaration of Independence — the Lehigh Valley certainly has no shortage of patriotic events to celebrate the holiday.

5 Can’t-Miss July 4th Events Happening in the Lehigh Valley

Fireworks at the July 3 IronPigs Game

There’s few things less American than eating a hot dog at a baseball game, so head to Coca-Cola Park in Allentown on July 3rd to see the IronPigs take on the Charlotte Knights. Enjoy the patriotic jersey auction during the game and stay for the fireworks afterwards. Get your tickets today!

Allentown’s 4th of July Fireworks and Street Festival

Don’t miss Allentown’s 4th of July Fireworks and Street Festival at J. Birney Crum Stadium. Held from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., this annual community event features performances by the XCape Hip Hip Dancers, Danny V’s 52nd Street Band, Sharon Plessl School of Dance, UUU Party Band, Scott Marshall’s Highway Band, The Allentown Municipal Band and Tim Harakal Trio. A patriotic pet parade will be held at the Linden Street Festival and fireworks start at 9:15 p.m.

Reading of the Declaration of Independence

July 4th is definitely a fun holiday, but it’s also important to remember the history behind it. The Lehigh Valley’s very own George Taylor was an original singer of the Declaration of Independence, so visit his former home in Catasauqua at 9 a.m. on July 4 to enjoy an interactive reading of this key document in American history. The Antebellum Marine Band, the American Legion Color Guard, the Northampton County Militia and the Bachmann Players (re-enactors) will also be on-site. Enjoy free entry and tours of the George Taylor House from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Fireworks at Sand Island

It’s not July 4 without fireworks, so gather your friends and family and head to Sand Island Park in Bethlehem at dusk for a magical display. If you opt to arrive downtown a little early, stop by Payrow Plaza to hear the Bethlehem Municipal Band play at 7:30 p.m.

Independence Day Weekend at the SteelStacks Campus

Celebrate America all three days of the holiday weekend at the SteelStacks Campus in Bethlehem. In addition to fireworks on July 4th, festivities include a free concert by the Allentown Band, the chance to interact with Benjamin Franklin, a children’s blueberry pie eating contest, performances by many talented local artists and much more!

CEO Letter

As a staffing and recruitment professional for over  30 years, I have seen many changes in the industry. Over that time, I’ve witnessed a transformation in the way organizations view staffing services. Today, we see more and more companies using staffing services as a strategic tool, rather than just for temporary fill-ins.

At HTSS, Inc., our focus is on helping companies create proactive workforce plans. Our goal is to help our clients use staffing strategically to increase capacity, overcome hiring freezes, access specialized talent, better manage increased workloads, and enhance overall productivity.

For our candidates, we help to uncover truly rewarding job opportunities—jobs that are a match to each candidate’s skills, and jobs that offer key experience and growth potential.

We look forward to strengthening our relationships with our current clients and candidates, as well as forming new and exciting partnerships in the future.

Sincerely,

Pat Howells
